Regulate dry skin and other skin conditions with hempseed oil

Hemp oil is high in fatty acids and has a composition similar to skin lipids. It makes a superb natural moisturizer, excellent for dehydrated skin and nails. It is said to increase skin elasticity and water retention capacity and it is safe to apply directly onto the skin.

Combined with proteins, lipids (fats) form a natural skin barrier, which holds in moisture and keeps out dirt, and other impurities. Lipids can be easily removed from the skin by harsh cleansing and chemical products, so using a mild and moisturizing cleanser and a natural, chemical-free moisturizer (such as hempseed oil) can actually help to keep lipids intact.

Hemp seeds are a rich source of protein, polyunsaturated fatty acids, omega 6, omega 3 fatty acids and fiber. They are an excellent source of protein rand useful as a supplement. They are also good source of Vitamin E antioxidants and, in addition, they are packed with minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, calcium, phosphorus and micro-elements such as strontium, thorium, arsenic and chromium. Taken internally or externally, hempseed oil can slow the aging process and fight certain skin conditions. It is especially useful for dry and dehydrated skin and nails.

What happens when your body is Omega 3 and Omega 6 deficient

Omega 3 deficiency (Alpha Linolenic Acid Deficienty) can cause weakness, impairment of vision, edema, dry skin, mental deterioration, and certain immune dysfunctions.

Omega 6 deficiency (Linoleic Acid Deficiency) can result in eczema-like skin eruptions, loss of hair, excessive water loss through the skin, thirst, drying up of glands, failure of wound healing and more. Adding Linoleic Acid to one’s diet can reverse these deficiency symptoms.

To use hempseed oil as a moisturizer, simply pour a little oil into your palm, and apply directly to your face or other areas of your body that are dry and dehydrated. Since hempseed oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and vitamin A, it is useful in healing the skin from rashes and even acne. It is useful as a make-up remover and cleanser, with the added benefit that it won’t strip your skin of all its moisture.
